How do I use a code on my TV to sign into my Microsoft account on my Xbox

Did it also provide a URL for you to use the code on? When you select "use another device" option on your console sign-in screen it should also display a URL where you can use the codes you mentioned.

But if you are using a smart tv, you also be provided with a QR code and a URL to complete the sign-in on another device.

It should actually tell you on the screen, but you go to microsoft.com/link, sign in with the account you have on the Xbox, and then type in the code on the website. Then continue from there.

I signed in on my Xbox and do you have a suggestion on how I can sign into my Microsoft account if I can't get into the email I used for the account

I just want to add this to the list of problems and solutions in case someone else runs into it.

The link www.xbox.com/tvsetup was not activating the account on my TV, and it was redirecting me to my xbox account page. For some reason using github to sign in with my microsoft account was the culprit. Once I used the microsoft authenticator to log in it correctly activated my account on the TV.

Just to add to this, I purchased the new game Max ... for my Xbox one via xbox.com and it redeemed the money from my account. So you CAN redeem your account money via xbox.com, but it might just be for xbox one games.

Also, you state pre-ordering Titanfall which I don't think is up on xbox.com (is it?) it sounds like you are ordering from the Microsoft Store, which will probably not use your account money as the money is taken from your account until the order ships and
of course it cannot be guaranteed that you will still have money in your account at that time (March next year). hope that makes sense.
