How Do I Update Xbox One!!!

Ok I've had an unlimited supply of problems with xbox one. Let's start with the basics: I live rural, and the only internet that's provided where I live is horrendous, I can only use up to 3GB of data a month without being charged an extra massive amount
of money. I know it's ridiculous, but it's all there is. Anyway, the initial update for xbox one uses 1GB of data, so I must forfeit 33% of my monthly data just to be able to use one. The first time I bought an xone, after the update it started making an unnatural
buzzing sound. So i returned it, waited painfully for a month, than bought another one from a different retailer. THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. So, i did some research, and found out the editions with kinect apparently don't make the noise, it has something
to do with power consumption. So i bought a day one edition off amazon another month later. After setting it up, it didn't make the noise, but I found out that kinect simply masks the noise. If you turn kinect off, the noise starts again. So I was back to
square one, until i read something on the xbox forums stating that the update that just came out (the October 20th update I believe), fixes this noise. Awesome, right? Well, no, not really. I CAN'T FIND OUT HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE DARN UPDATE! i'll connect to
xbox live, go to my settings, and it just says that no update is available! RRRGH. I know it didn't download automatically, because I always disconnect my internet before turning my console off, to make sure it doesn't use up a massive amount of data without
me knowing. Please, PLEASE, someone help me with this.

I also have quite a few other, but less important, problems that come to mind like:

1. My system won't let me change the time. I'll go into settings, see the time, but I can't highlight and select it.

2. I can't save game dvr. I'll select a clip, press the start button on it, but there is no save option.

3. Some of my game dvr gets deleted 5 to 15 minutes after it gets recorded. I know they're temporary files if you don't save them, but I don't think temporary files aresupposed to be deleted THAT quickly.

These are just a few other problems that come to mind, I'm sure I've experienced more and just forgotten. Anyway, it would be SO awesome if someone could help me out, give me some real advice, and not just tell me to get my xbox replaced or repaired. I'm
pulling my hair out with frustration over this...

btw, I'm REALLY sorry about making such a huge and annoying post, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

yeah, I've gotten the update finally, but nothing has been fixed. I can't cancel updates or anything. Also, my Xbox makes a repeating whirring noise that sounds like crickets when I'm playing games, it's probably the disc drive or the fan thats squeaky,
but it's annoying as hell. And also, in my game DVR, when I try to select a clip older than my latest one, it just boots me back to my latest recording, and then I'm left having to press the right bumper to skip though my clips.

 

I think contacting Xbox support is the best and maybe only real option. You can begin a chat session with an Xbox support representative or call 800-4MYXBOX. I've done both and numerous occasions. They've always been very helpful and I always got to the
bottom of the issue.

I use to live in an area without any high speed internet possibilities. I would take my 360 over to a friend or family members house and use their internet whenever I wanted to download an update, arcade game, add-on, etc. I have no idea whether you can
do that with the Xbox One or not.
