How do I update my child's account to reflect he's an adult.

If you go to settings and you will find it or go to the app on xbox and go to settings but you child have to be 18 before he can get it

There are 2 ways an account sees whether it is a child or not.

1. The DOB on the account when it was originally setup. This can be changed on the Microsoft (MS) account but will remain at whatever the DOB was when the MS account was originally setup for the Xbox Profile. If it is above the age of majority (18

2. When the DOB on an account is under the age of majority by law it has to be in a family with an adult account to be able to agree to the MS Terms of Service (TOS) this basically is a contract between MS and the person that is agreeing to it and
by law a company can not go into a contract with a minor.

So to answer your question if you sign into your (adult) account at account.microsoft.com/family and still see his account under the family as a child account if you remove him from the account and the DOB on the account when it was originally setup
was above the age of majority then his account would be put into its own family as an adult.

However:

If you remove him from your family and the DOB on his account is not above the age of majority it will not allow him to do anything on his account until he is put back into a family as a child account.


So what you want to do is sign into your account at account.microsoft.com/family remove him from the family (if he is still a member as a child) and then have him try and sign in if there is no error message when he tries to sign in then he is part
of his own family as an adult.

He may need to remove his profile from the Xbox console and then sign back in with it to make sure that all the changes take affect.

But how exactly? I’ve looked over every option i have and cant find anywhere to upgrade. I searched and it gave me directions, but the steps in the directions were not options/available.
