How do I unmute myself?

I have tried everything from updating my controllers to port forwarding, but my Xbox still insists I'm muted. I can hear others, but can not be heard. I have purchased a new controller and headset to no avail, so this has become somewhat frustrating. I require
help.

Is this a joke? Its been over 2 months since this glitch was annouced, why am i still muted? I didnt PAY to have a glitched account and absolutly no help from support apart from they were working on it a few months ago, and then make the topic ANSWERED?
No its not, not at all im still muted.

If you never read old topic basically on some games you could mute yourself (i muted myself on Gears 3 by the mute strangers option) It dont affect comunication to others but looking in-game and if your in a party you can't see if your microphone works or
if your talking loud enough (my problems i dont know if my musics too loud mainly).

Its not a massive problem but can get irritating. Please fix and keep people up to date, apologies if you have a place for this and please post a link but other than that do something about it!

Hi there.

Do you know if the console is reporting your NAT as open? To check, go to console Settings and then Network.

Additionally, you may want to check your privacy settings to see if this is the cause of the issue. Go to Settings > Privacy and Online Settings. From here, select 'Custom'.

Scroll to the right for "Communicate with voice and text' and see what this option is set to. You have the choice to set it to 'everybody', 'friends', or 'block'. If it's currently set to 'block', that would explain the issue you've been experiencing.

Please report back once following the above steps.

 

My NAT is set to open and I have tried the second suggestion before.
