How do I transfer Xbox Game Save data to an external Hard drive?

I can transfer DLC data but I apparently can't transfer the actual save game data. I've tried it for Shadow of Mordor and Watch Dogs.

If you press A on the Save Game Data here are the options:

Delete from Console

Delete Everywhere

Cancel

When I go to storage there's two storage options available. Under the Internal HDD I have all my DLC. On my External HDD I have some of the DLC I copied while I was experimenting. When you view a game there's a third column that is "game save" and it's
not under either the Internal or External HDD. I can't move or copy it. I don't even know where it's saved specifically. The game save date is likely on Xbox servers but I have no clue where it is right now on my console between the internal and external
drives.

If it matters, I have a save in the beginning of Mordor with a lot of Runes and all the Epic ones and everything unlocked. I want to keep a backup of that so I can replay the game from the beginning anytime I want with all those items. Obviously since
the game automatically saves, I can't keep it at the beginning. I just want to save that file as a backup so I can recopy it each time I replay.

This is really frustrating because I don't understand how basic data manipulation should be this difficult. If this is some dumb data DRM by MS then this might be enough for me to just stop using their services. Xbox 360 was a cinch. This is pretty ridiculous.

Transferring new data to Xbox One S

I am interested in buying an Xbox one S, but I am not sure how hard it will be to transfer my save and game data to it. I'm sure I will have to reinstall games, but as far as save data goes, what's the best way to transfer that? I also have a 1TB external
hard drive attached, but how do I tell if all the necessary data is on that for the transfer? Also can I tell what data is saved to that hard drive versus the internal hard drive?

I want to transfer my game saves data from an xbox one console to another via an external hard drive. I have already formatted an external hard drive to use but I can only manage to copy the install data of game onto the hard drive. Is there a way of getting
just the games saves?

I know you can use the cloud but I don't want to have to rely on always being connected to the internet to access my saves.

Actually you don't really need to keep a backup anymore as all the game saves for the Xbox One are stored on the Cloud for easy access from any console.

 

The cloud doesn't do what I want. Mordor and WatchDogs will automatically save over any save file. I want to keep a backup of one file that is at the very start of the game with the character fully leveled up with a lot if items. This way I can restart
anytime I want with a high level character from that backup. With the cloud, it will automatically overwrite that file as I do missions so I will never be able to replay with those items/stats.

I always do this with games I like and wish to replay. I still have my Oblivion and Skyrim files at with very little if anything done.

 

Alright, I understand what you are looking for now. Unfortunately that feature is not available at this time. However you should post in the Feedback Forums and perhaps they'll implement it.
