How do I transfer ownership of a Microsoft store app from one account to another?

All they way back when Minecraft Windows 10 edition was still in beta, I had used the free key I got for owning Minecraft Java to get a copy of the version on the Windows store. I have since changed accounts and was wondering if there was a way to transfer
the ownership of the app from my old account to my new one.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums, We understand that you are seeking to transfer a game from one account to another.

There is currently no way to
transfer services, digital purchases, subscriptions, game save data, or achievements to another account.

You will need to be signed into the account that owns what ever game or service you are attempting to use. If you wish to use a game on another account, purchasing it once more would be your best bet.

Hey there Unkown! That's because license transfers aren't used for sharing DLC/Games without paying for them. The purpose of a license transfer is to transfer ownership of content from one console to another console; not to transfer ownership from one account
to another.

For example, proper use of a license transfer would be: You have an original Xbox 360 console and you buy an Xbox 360 S console. You then use a license transfer to transfer ownership of all of your DLC from your original console to your new console.

I'm sorry but there is no option to transfer an Xbox profile from one Microsoft account to another.

Just to be clear, license transfers are not meant to be used for sharing content. They work for transferring ownership from one console to another, not from one profile to another. For example: If your brother bought the Dragonborn DLC then
gets a new Xbox 360 console, he can use a license transfer to transfer ownership of the content to the new console. But it cannot be used to transfer ownership to your profile.

If you are wanting to play the DLC that he purchased on his profile, you will need to be logged into his profile to do so.

Are you logged into his account while trying to access the Dragonborn DLC?

Hi there. Unfotunately you cannot transfer ownership of DLC from one account to another, the DLC becomes forfeit when an account is perma-banned.
