How do I transfer an xbox account to someone?

Okay, so my son is done with xbox. The account is really great. He decided to give it to a friend. I have been unable to disconnect the association of the xbox account with my hotmail account. I called support and they couldn't figure out how to let the
two be separated. Does this mean I'd have to give the friend the xbox & the hotmail (and bing and skype) account(s) that are all intertwined?

Bought a new xbox....

I bought it because my old one couldnt install discs and its starting to fail on me. How do I transfer my account to the new xbox and all the credit card information?

How do I transfer an xbox account to someone?

If you use that hotmail account you may not want to change the account name as that hotmail account will disappear

Note If you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services.

To remove the email address you no longer use to sign in to your account, select Remove next to that alias on the Manage your account aliases page, and then follow the instructions provided.

Important Do not remove this email address if you still want to use it to send and receive email messages.

Sorry but it is against the terms of use and the code of conduct of Xbox live to sell or transfer a gamertag to another person. An attempt to do so could result in the account being banned from live entirely.

Well ok but lets say you had your son on you account when he was smaller... now he owns his own credit card and might move out.... this means all the money he spent is gone because I need to get him off of my email account?

I love him but i no longer need to know every thing he does.
