    How do I stop updates from occurring when I want to play a game?


    I'm trying to play Cyberpunk 2077, offline, no online required. When I go to start it though it says I can't play it until it updates. It's 33gb and the highest speed available on the only ISP in my area, it's been going for 5 hours already and says it still has another 5 hours left.

    I only had a couple hours in which to play. How do I get it to either 1. download the update in the background and install it when it's ready 2. Update at night when nobody's using the system or 3. Just never update games at all without approval? At present it seems the only way is going to be to disconnect it from wifi at all times.

    First, thank you so much for contacting us regarding your concern.

    Updates are requirements provided by the developers/ publishers. Chox does not issue any game updates unless the game was created by Xbox. In your case, Ubisoft would have issued a game update to repair bugs, add features, etc.

    These updates must be completed. If you disrupt ir, you may be forced to install the game and update again. There won't be a way to get around that :(

    No, the issue occurs when I update my game. If I disconnect from the internet and install the game therefore preventing an update, it plays fine. The moment I update my game, it starts crashing. It's all down to the update. The moment the update gets downloaded,
    the game stops working.

    This is just stupid now. I got the game at launch and I'm still unable to play it like many others, I'm sure. This is unacceptable.
