how do i stop my xbox from starting up disconnected from my internet

We may need to perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below. This is to refresh the connection between your Xbox and router.

"1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

By the way, if you have an option to connect your console using an ethernet cable that would be great as well.

Please proceed to do a power cycle to fix the issue

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

If you have a USB cable that can connect your controller to the Xbox, follow the steps below.

First, turn off the console and remove the batteries from your controller, then plug the USB cable into the console and controller.

Then turn on the Xbox through the console's Power button and turn on the controller.

Then clear the cache on the console and check if the control has any updates to be made.

1. Go to the Xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off

2. Wait 10 seconds until it turns off

3. Wait 1 minute with it off

4. Turn it back on

After the console restarts and I'm at the console start screen, put the batteries back in the controller, remove the USB cable and see if it stays connected.

How do you disconnect them from your xbox? Having an issue with someone doing this through the app and want it to stop. How do I make it to where my xbox cannot be connected to?
