    How do I "start recording" while my Xbox One is offline?


    QUESTION: I would like to start recording (to create a game capture) while my Xbox One X is not connected to the internet. How do I do that?

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEM: If the xbox has an internet connection, the option to "start recording" is accessible, because the category "Capture & share" is enabled. When my xbox is offline, however, the "start recording" option is no longer accessible, because it is hidden under the now grayed-out/disabled "Capture & share" category.

    CLARIFICATION: It is still possible to press Xbox button and then X to "record what happened" even if I am offline. However, it is NOT possible to "start recording" (in order to create a capture up to an hour long) if I am offline.

    NOTE: My capture device is an external hard disk connected via USB cable on my xbox so it should not matter if I am online/offline for this to work.

    P. S. I have a PC keyboard connected to the xbox. Is there a keyboard shortcut that can help me start the recording without having to access the option through Xbox button?

    Do you happen to know if there is an easy way to request a fix for this from Microsoft? There should be no reason this does not work offline, so I consider it a design flaw, and I hope the developers also see it as such.

    Dex, when the console is offline indeed that option is kept greyed out. Only when pressing the xbox button than X to record. :/ There's no keyboard shortcut as well.
