How do I sign out of Destiny on the Xbox One?

I have been going to Settings, then Log Out. I have to choose either the Switch Profile option or the Change Character option. Then I turn off my console. When I return to the game, it says "Welcome back. While you were away you were signed out."

I have the impression I am not quitting out of Destiny correctly.

Does anyone know hot to sign out correctly?

I know this seems stupid but how do you sign out of destiny?

 

Certain achievements won't pop up

"Destiny" sometimes does stuff like that.

Sign out of your profile.

Then sign back into it and access the game.

That made the stubborn ones pop in "Destiny".

Let us know how you get on.

 

I always choose "Change Character". When at that screen, I can just hit the B button to back up to the title screen. At that point, I'm no longer logged into the game even though Destiny still interprets me as being the primary player who is signed in
on the Xbox One.

As long as you are on the title screen, your character is not logged into the game.

 

That is the proper process to log out of the character but as long as you are still past the main title screen that says (Press A to Sign in) it will always say "Welcome back..." when you come back to the game from an instant on console. If you want to take
an extra step you can totally close the game by going to the dashboard and Pressing the menu button (Three lines next to Guide) and choose "Close".

 

Same way works for all games on XB1 and IS SAFE.

Press the XBOX button to go to home, then with the application (game) window highlighted hit the menu button (old start button) select close application.

Works with anything on XB1

 

Basically what AFro wrote, except the command isn't "Close", but rather "Quit".

 

I do nothing... i think is what the game asks you (meaning they don't want you to log out).

Getting that message doesn't mean anything bad, you still pick up where you left off from, you can even log back in and resume a mission that was in progress the last time you played. The game is just letting you know you've been logged out its not big deal.

 

The PS3(I think), the PS4 and the 360 all have the option to log out, so why can't the Xbox One give you the same option?
