Microsoft owns Minecraft. Therefore, a Microsoft account is required to play the game.

If you want to play with friends on different platforms or join Realms on Minecraft for PlayStation, you will need to link a Microsoft account to your PlayStation Network (PSN) account. Here is how to do that.

How to connect your Microsoft account to PlayStation in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

Launch Minecraft on your PlayStation.

Select Sign in with a Microsoft account on the title screen.

Visit the code redemption site on a browser.

Input the code that your game is displaying.

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want associated with your PlayStation account.

Note: only one Microsoft account can be associated with any PlayStation account at any one time. If the account you are trying to sign into has already been linked, you will need to use a different one.

This is because Microsoft accounts are also used for Xbox services, and you need an Xbox profile to link your accounts. To create an Xbox profile, you can follow the instructions on the website below;

You can use the same email and password as your Microsoft account, or you can create a new one. Once you have created an Xbox profile, you can try signing in to PlayStation with your Microsoft account again.

Also, you will need to link your Xbox profile to PlayStation;

1. Go to the Settings menu on your PlayStation console.
2. Select Users and Accounts, then Account, then Sign in.
3. Enter your email address and password for your Microsoft account, then select Confirm.
4. If your PlayStation console has not already been activated as your Primary PlayStation console, you will be asked to activate it. Select Activate to proceed.
5. You will see a message that says “Your Microsoft account is now linked with your PlayStation Network account”. Select OK to finish.

You can also unlink your Microsoft account from your PlayStation account at any time by following these steps:

Go to the Settings menu on your PlayStation console.
Select Users and Accounts, then Account, then Sign in.
Select Unlink Your Account, then confirm your choice.

Generally, when you play a Microsoft game on the Playstation, you will be prompted that you need to associate an account with it, and all you need to do is sign in to your Microsoft account (you will need to enter your account and password) in order to play the game.
