how do i shut the timer off

Xbox One Sleep Timer

I guess that makes sense otherwise your system would just shut off while watching TV. Seems like a update with a sleep timer would be good then.

How do I shut off auto renewal?

You should be able to achieve this by logging in at Xbox.com, going to My Account then it should be under Subscriptions.

However, I note that your account is still showing as Silver.

Unless you have very recently added the Gold time, you do not seem to need to shut off auto-renewal on this account.

Run the game, and go to the top left corner, and click on the game option/symbol […].

Click on the settings, and search for thetimer option.

Select the timer option from on to off.

Console is not faulty.

Sounds like the family timer is working just as it should.

It's set to shut off at a certain time & it's doing exactly that,how is that faulty?

Ok, well idk what happened but all of a sudden the "Power Off" button is back.

As far as the "sleep timer". Can we just get a real one that we can set a timer and it shuts off regardless?

Many people like to watch stuff as they fall asleep and don't want to rely on the "INACTIVITY" timer to do it because it's unreliable. If an app is still open, the Xbox will not count that as inactivity. Such as Netflix, it may stop playing after 3-4 shows
with no interaction, but the app will stay open.

I agree..I sent that suggestion to MS..saying the ONE should have a dedicated sleep timer that shuts off the ONE AND TV...

Yes, the issue is that even if you set it to shut down after 1 hour of inactivity, the Xbox recognizes the open TV app as a running program so even though the TV is off with a sleep timer that app is open and Xbox recognizes that open app as activity so
it will stay on for days and days regardless of what settings you have on your Xbox. Very frustrating!!! If the TV is off that is inactivity right??? With Xbox, no!!! I don't care what your doing, if the TV is off that is inactivity. Thus why I say add a
sleep timer setting or change what Xbox views as inactivity.
