Unfortunately this hasn't worked. Im trying to do it again now and its telling me that my Microsoft account password didn't work and that I should use my app password if I have setup two-step verification.

I have tried generating App passwords but those dont work either.

I called my Bank card told the bank dont want the charge. I will never use a credit card on xboxlive again. It is a setup because it is a pain to call them. Then when you do they ask you for passwords and secret codes to the password you setup with the account.
If you forget they will tell you cant cancle. Even when you know alll account info to your Gamer Tag- and bank Card info . It is a bad setup and they make alot of money off that setup. You should be able to cancle at anytime ONLINE, Who wants to calll XBOX

by changing the email this means that you wil create a new account and a new gamertag. you can try to reset the password to create a new password and access to yor account

The account is the one I used to setup my Xbox Live profile.

From my local profile, I select join. Then I walk through the process

Name: I put in my online tag;

Email: I use the one I setup the account with, and;

Password: use the Xbox live password.

It connects and then fails, saying the profile is in use try another. There is no other profile to try.
