Xbox Account switched to another player

When I set up the Xbox one account, it is under my email. Due to this, I cannot set up parental controls. How do I switch the account to my son so he can still keep progress on games. I want him to have his own account with parental controls but not lose
data.

Hi there TeenScarab,

To set up parental controls, you will need to start by creating an adult account and adding it to the Xbox.

If you have already done this, please skip ahead to Step 3.

1. You will need to make sure that first of all, you have a "parent" account set up.

You will need an Xbox Live Account of your own associated with an email address. (If you havent got this, you can easily create online by going to xbox.com and click the create account button on the sign in page.)

2. Add the account on to the Xbox One by Adding a new member. Hit the Xbox Guide button and add new by scrolling to the far left and selecting add new (or if nobody is signed in, add new is right there).

3. Sign in to the profile and hitting the guide button again, going right 3 times into Settings and selecting settings in this menu to launch the settings app.

4. While on the settings app, under "account", choose the option for Family. Here you can select the member you wish to add into the family if the gamertag is already on the Xbox or add new which will give you the opportunity to sign in or "get a new email" to
create another account.

5. After following the above, you should be able to amend the privacy settings or what you would like the account to be able to do.

I would also advise that doing this, you should also amend the privacy settings on your account so they're unable to just get in and circumvent these settings.

I'll be honest I couldn't find a way to fix the parental controls without being on an Xbox one console. it doesn't help that they changed how to change your privacy settings and parental control settings.
