How do I separate mine and my son's accounts?

I created my son's Xbox account under my microsoft account years ago. Our email addresses and account information are tied as "family". He is now in college and needs his own account. He has an email address but since my email is
primary, he has to use mine to log in to Xbox. How can we separate account without him losing all his Xbox information, points, etc? The online service was paid in Jan under my account but I want it to go against his Xbox account. Everything I have read says
that if I change the alias, I will lose my ability to check my own email - that account will be lost.

I have 3 XBOX Ones... Mine and one for each son. I set my youngest son's XBOX to see MINE as his HOME. When I setup the older son's XBOX to see MINE as his HOME it seems to have booted the younger son.

How many XB1s can my be HOME to?

Put in wrong email

I put in wrong email for my son's account that is attached to mine. Cannot figure out how to change it.

If your email is a Microsoft server email (@Hotmail.com, @outlook.com, @live.com, @msn.com) then yes you would lose access to be able to check that email forever.

If it is another server email (@gmail.com, @yahoo.com) then you would not lose access to those accounts.

There is no way to transfer the information from one Microsoft account to another.

So if it is a MS server email and you do not want to lose access to that email there is nothing that can be done.

If it is not a MS server email then you can add his email to your account as an alias and remove yours you wont lose access to it.

If his email is a MS server email he would not be able to add his email to your account as an alias because it is already a MS account.

I may be in the same situation. I am the Dad, and I have an Epic Account. My son's account is under my account. When I log into Epic, it logs into my account. My son does not have a direct account account to log into. So how how do I redeem the gift card under his account, not mine?

Unfortunately, you can't transfer Gold memberships like that.

On the Xbox One the "Home Console" can share the Gold membership to other accounts on that very console, but the Xbox 360 console can't do that.

You need to either buy a separate Gold membership for your son via Prepaid Gold cards, or subscribe to the Gold membership with his account.

Sort of an add on question - can my sons have separate gamertags from me under a single Live Gold account or does each tag have to have its own account? The reason I ask is that some stuff they are okay with accessing (I use the parent controls) and some
is not okay and would also like their gamertag to be separate from mine.

Okay, so if I convert the local gamertag to a live one, can it then be put under my account as a child's account? If so, how does one do that? I'm familiar with creating an account for a child, moving a separate account under mine as my child's account
would be interesting too.
