How do I separate access between Xbox and Windows?

I have (had?) small kids and we essentially shared an Xbox live account. This account & gamertag has a lot of saved progress and friends and I don't want to lose it. Now that my kids are older, I don't want them to have access to my windows password (essentially
admin access). How can I split these up? Ideally, I'd like to start a new gamertag for my kids but shift all the progress and friends to the new account... any advice on doing something like this?

Maybe. Most PC's run a Microsoft Operating System anyway (Windows 10, previous Windows versions). They're into gaming and even acquired Minecraft. I think they are creating a unified UI (Windows 10) across multiple devices and this is evident between PC's
with Windows 10 and Xbox 1's Windows 10 like, UI, and the Xbox app. I think there are already enough people on Xbox 1 (a lot of people are still on Xbox 360). Unifying gaming experience sounds like a good thing without having to have a separate account for
steam and separate one for Xbox and cross platform multiplayer will give you more people to play with. But I'm fine with how Xbox is now.

so you're complaining that playing the game on one system...pc, ps4, or xbox one...doesn't allow you free access to all the others? how is this a new or uncommon phenomenon? do people really have such an inflated sense of entitlement that they think companies
should/would do this? the pc version is separate from xbox, xbox is separate from ps4 and as such demand separate subscriptions.

Nintendo switch operates on its own store, that Microsoft does not have access to, if you’re thinking about play anywhere, no Minecraft games are play anywhere, and require a separate purchase on each platform. Play anywhere only works between Windows store and Xbox, no other platforms on titles that have it enabled.

If you are attempting to connect your switch to your Microsoft account, all you have to do is sign in in the game to your Microsoft account.

The URL you've hyperlinked is the same for both links. I can't find anywhere where it says Forza 5 does not run on Windows 11.

I'm not sure how you have lost access to your progress and in-app purchases, that is likely a separate issue. However, Windows 11 is not in beta, it's a full commercial release. It's been on general release since October 2021. Forza Horizon 5 is designed to run on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

There should no incompatibilities for games between Windows 10 and Windows 11. I'm a PC gamer and I play Forza Horizon 5 via Windows 11 and it's working perfectly.
