How do I see the text in menus in the beta Xbox app?

I have the same problem.

I have the Windows 10 May 2019 update (1903) installed and have updated it through Windows Update.

I installed the Xbox Beta app by downloading it from Microsoft's site, and also tried installing it through the Microsoft Store, but the issue persists.

Not sure if this is a problem everywhere or just with specific PCs, but right now the app feels more like a pre-alpha app, rather than beta.

EDIT: I repeated the same update and installation procedures on another PC, and that one works fine, so this is only an issue with certain PCs.

The only major difference is that the PC where it works, is running a Radeon RX580 GPU with a 2nd gen i5, and the one where it does not work, is using an onboard Nvidia GT 520 GPU, with a 2nd gen i7.

completely up to date? Usually do any of the recommended ones. You can report this in the insider hub app, if you have it on your console. Otherwise can go to the

Actually you can change the custom background from the app

Thanks, but I have the beta app on my ASUS laptop, and I don't see an option to do that in the menu or settings.

Just to add, I have so far tried:

• Restarting/rebooting PC
• Ending the Xbox (Beta) task in Task Manager and launching it again
• Using the Terminate function in the App Settings menu
• Using the Repair function in the App Settings menu
• Using the Reset function in the App Settings menu

None of these worked.

I've just tried Uninstalling the app and downloading the XboxInstaller again, and now it won't install, it just hangs after I click the 'Install' button - so I don't recommend doing that if anyone's having the same issue! Trying to get the Xbox (Beta) app
from the Microsoft Store just causes the MS Store to do nothing after clicking the 'Get' button.

If anyone knows how I can raise a proper support ticket for this I'd be very grateful!

To reset the app follow these steps:

Open Settings.

Go to Apps -> Apps & features.

On the right side, look for Xbox Beta or Xbox companion app, ( which ever app is the issue) the and click it.

The advanced options link will appear. Click it. Scroll till you see rest

On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Microsoft Store to default settings.

To run as administrator

open the start menu locate the app

Right click on the app and you will see a menu

select more and another menu will pop up an then select run as administrator
