How do I safely remove any external Hardrives? Xbox One

I recently bought a Seagate 5 TB HD (for Xbox One); I installed it and formatted it. And everything runs fine and all. But when I go to remove it, I cant seem to find the option to "Remove" the Harddrive. And I seriously do not just want to unplug it from
the console. Maybe, there is something I seem to be missing.

    Help?

    :)

Cannot connect to xbox live with wired connection.

    Greetings AiA Saphri!

The Xbox 360's internal memory is only 4GB. Anything else in regard to an Xbox storage device is external. How to safely remove or add an Xbox 360 hard drive:

    Double Network Problem

    Greetings!

Do you connect with the external wireless network adapter or the built in? With your console powered off safely remove the hard drive and add it back. Power on the Xbox and try connect. Let us know how that goes.

That option is not there. You just have to unplug it from the console.

For some odd reason it says I'm 'Browsing games in Rainbow Six Siege' when I'm offline.

I have not but I'm worried that would glitch it even more and there would be a glitch in a glitch,if I do that will it remove my data on my external hardrive or internal hardrive?

    Xbox 360 slim storage disapearing

We didn't install any hardrive. The storage of the Xbox (the original one inside the xbox to which we don't have access) is the one that disapeared. We can still use USB sticks, and I guess we could use any external hardrive. But the original storage
    of the Xbox has disapeared...

Safe to rest a external hardrive on top of the Xbox One?

Can you use any external hard drive? I only ask because I got a 500gb hard drive with a Zgemma box which is unused and an extra 500gb of space wouldn't go amiss.
