How do I resolve error code 0x80073cf9?

I turned on my computer and tried to run Sea of Thieves, it didn't launch. I restarted my computer, It still didn't launch. I tried to reset the game in Windows settings, that just uninstalled it (which was very frustrating), then I properly uninstalled it. When I tried to reinstall the game I got an error code straight away - 0x80073cf9.

There was no help in Xbox Support about it, and the code wasn't listed anywhere I searched. I tried searching support and found this from a few years ago,

The solution of adding AUInstallAgent didn't work, and the thread was closed. I tried installing it on both of my drives and I got the same error both times. My PC specs well exceed that of the game and I have ample storage available. I've been playing for months without issue until today.

How do I fix this so i can play the game I bought?

First, before trying the solution below, make sure your system is fully up to date, your windows 10 must be version 21H1, you can be checking this by following the instructions below: Go to settings>system>about. If your system is not up to date, update it by windows update.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Here are some ideas:

Check Your Internet Connection
Power cycle your modem or router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. Restart your Xbox console as well.
On your Xbox, go to Settings > Network > Network settings and select Test network connection. Ensure that your Xbox is connected to the internet.

Clear Alternate MAC Address
Go to Settings > Network > Network settings.
Select Advanced settings, choose Alternate MAC address, and then select Clear. Restart your console.

Remove and Re-add Your Account
Go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account you want to remove, then choose Remove.
