How do I reset the family password/code?

Let us try if this will work for you to reset the Xbox 360 pass code. First, sign in to your Microsoft/Xbox account on this page https://account.microsoft.com/devices and register your Xbox 360 device.

Once done, locate your registered Xbox 360 console and select Show Details. Select Manage, select Reset passcode, and then follow the instructions to reset your pass code. It might show you series of buttons that you need to press, just follow the instructions that it will display to reset the passcode.

If you’ve forgotten your pass code, you can reset it by answering the pass code question you created when you set up parental controls on your Xbox 360 console. Here’s how:

1. On your console, go to Settings, and then select Family.
2. When you’re prompted, enter any pass code (even though it’s incorrect).
3. When you’re notified that your pass code is incorrect, select Reset Pass Code.
4. When your pass code question appears, use your controller or chatpad to enter the answer, and then select Done.

If you’re unable to remember the answer to your pass code question, you’ll need to contact Xbox Support for help.

I am also experiencing problems with the family code but for different reasons. I work with families, and they are looking tohabe the code removed. However, they do not remember the password nor the email that was origianlly used. Is there a way to reset
or get rid of the password without actually having an email account with microsoft? It says you can change it online, however that requires an account.

You'll have to factory reset your console. All the gamertags should be backed up so they will be able to be redownloaded. Back up all your saves to the Cloud first.

take down the serial # off the back of the console (how to find it -
support.xbox.com/.../serial-number)

Then call Support -
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us (click Request a Call).

They'll give you a set of controller instructions (i.e. up up down down left right left right B A) unique to your serial # that will allow you to reset your console.
