    reset family passcode- forgot and do not have backup answer

    I do not recall every setting up my family passcode or a password reset question... I do not know the passcode or the answer to the question I am asked if I forgot my passcode... How can I reset the family passcode another way?

    XBOX LIVE PASSCODE.

    Are you referring to the LIVE passcode, or the Family Settings passcode? The Family Settings code will not be reset by a recover. If you forgot this passcode you can try answering the security question or calling phone support.

    Are you referring to the Xbox LIVE passcode or the Parental Settings passcode? Only the LIVE passcode can be removed by recovering. The parental passcode can only be removed by either knowing the passcode or answering the secret question.

    I think everyone here is talking about different things. JCW: Can you please describe exactly what you are trying to do?

    Account Password: paired with the WLID, this is needed to recover your profile and log in. Only needed to put in once

    Parental Password: this may be asked for when purchasing content or changing settings. This is the password attached to the Parent Account's WLID.

    Xbox LIVE Passcode: four digits, this is used every time you sign into LIVE. This can be removed by recovering the account.

    Parental Passcode: another layer of security for changing the Family Safety Settings. This can only be removed by knowing it or answering the security question.
