A Xbox account and a Microsoft account are one and the same thing, you would have been assigned a gamertag for the account the first time you visited an Xbox related site or app while logged in.

Non Sports Girl - is correct on this matter. It may be worth contacting Xbox Support directly to see if there is anything that they can do. Although, this may not be possible as you already have been assigned a gamertag.

Hello Ash, unfortunately it's not possible, your Xbox account and your Microsoft account are the same, they're one thing.

If you started playing with your mother's email, have your Gamertag on it, purchased games and made progress on that account, you won't be able to transfer that progress and items to another account, what you can do is change "Alias" but the items will still be in the account.
