    How do I remove an Xbox 360 backward compatible profile for the Xbox One


    How do I remove an Xbox 360 backward compatible profile for the Xbox One. Every time I play an Xbox 360 backward compatible game on my Xbox One, I have 3 profiles to chose from. I want to get rid of the one that I am no longer using. I don't want to delete
    all Xbox 360 data from the setting because I will have to download all the games again, and that burns into my data cap.

    As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.
    This means that you can play with people that are playing on xbox 360 using an xbox one or one s. For a list of backwards compatible games click Available games

    Hey there, do you happen to have three different profiles signed in on your Xbox One console? If so, that may be why you're seeing all three show up when you're prompted to sign into an Xbox Live profile through the Xbox 360 emulator. If you do have those
    profiles on your Xbox One console and wish to remove them, you may do so following the steps on

    No, I already deleted the offending profile from my Xbox One, but it's persisting in the Xbox 360 emulator.

    Thanks for the info. I recommend next clearing your local Xbox 360 storage next. This step will not remove any saves from the cloud, or remove any Xbox 360 Back Compat games from your Xbox One console. Here's the steps to find that option:

    1. Navigate to 'All settings' from the Xbox One guide.
    2. Scroll down to 'System' and select 'Storage'.
    3. Within the storage screen, select 'Clear local Xbox 360 storage'.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to download your profile to your Xbox One backwards compatible menu and your Xbox 360. We recommend removing your profile from the Xbox One backwards compatible menu. We will
    provide steps on how to remove your profile and add it back. A corrupt file on the Xbox 360 will be indicated by an exclamation point. If you do a search though the hard drive of your Xbox 360, do you see any corrupt files? We suggest removing any corrupt
    files. Especially any corrupt files that are in the profile folder. Be sure to let us know the results!

    How to remove your profile:

    1. Launch an Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One
    2. Wait until you get past the Xbox logo and press the
      View and Menu buttons at the same time to pull up the Xbox 360 guide
    3. Go to Settings and look for storage settings
    4. Select profiles
    5. Delete your profile(Profile only) Do not delete profile and items

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are attempting to play a backwards compatible game, but the console is giving you an error with downloading your profile. The console is asking for an Xbox 360 profile to be downloaded
    on the console. This is the same account that you use on the Xbox One. The profile may need to be downloaded when you are on the backwards compatible screen from time to time. Also, the profile may need to be removed from the storage settings on the backwards
    compatible menu before you download it. We will include instructions on how to complete this process. Also, please ensure that the email address and password for the Xbox profile are correct before this step is taken. Be sure to let us know the results!

    How to remove your profile:

    1. Launch an Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One
    2. Wait until you get past the Xbox logo and press the
      View       and Menu buttons at the same time to pull up the Xbox 360 guide

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to complete the transaction for any backward compatible titles for the Xbox One. Have you ever been able to purchase or claim a backward-compatible game before, using your account?
    Are you a child account? If so, you would have to complete these transactions on an Xbox 360 console.

    To troubleshoot this issue, We recommend starting off by removing your account from the Xbox one and then re-downloading it. This will help re-sync your profile and profile information to Xbox live. Let us know if this helps.
