How do I remove a parental account linked to mine?

the other gt that i am trying to add is my son. i have tried to add him from his xbox as well as mine but I just go through a continuous loop. What is a parent lock and how do i remove it? i should be the parent that is linked to the gt. where do i check
to see?

We checked the billing information on both mine and my parent's account, and everything was in order. How do I check if the gamertag is associated with the parental account, just login to xbox.com with parental login?

Parental controls are not on. My step-father has a parent account linked to mine but he's given me access to M and unrated.

My son got an Xbox and started playing it before I understood how parental controls work. Long story short:

- Linked to MY email is an EpicGames account (Fortnite) that he purchased things on. That email is also my Microsoft account, where I handle the family account

- He has a Microsoft log on that I created that is an old email of mine + a password, so that I can then use the parental controls on that account

How do I get the Epic Games account linked to my email to be linked to his new Xbox and by extension his Microsoft log on

My dilemma here is that unless he uses his own log on, I can't use the parental controls. If he simply uses the log on I created for him, he won't have access to the things he purchased.
