If the email is expired it should promp you for updated information also if you log into hotmail with the email and password it will reopen the email. but will still prompt on xbox for a new email address. so your parents will have to do it, there is no
way to access your parent account without your parent doing it. I think that may get straiter to your point...

This promotion removes the Family Settings and Xbox Live restrictions.
