So my child has gotten locked out of their outlook and xbox account for some reason. The recovery phone number is discontinued and when we fill the recovery form, it says we’re not providing enough information? I can show that I have his account on both our xbox’s and even know the payment details used for some purchases? Is there anyone I can contact? As the live chat doesn’t seem to be working.

    :)

How do I recover an account with no recovery method and apparently dont have enough evidence for the form?

Hi Benjamin! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry your child is experiencing this problem. I understand how important recovering his account is to you.

Just a gentle reminder that we are only Xbox gamers here in the community. We are not Microsoft employees and we do not have tools to access any Microsoft System.

Based on your description and since you mentioned that your son's account is locked out of his Microsoft account, I highly recommend your son submit an account reinstatement form as a last resort to unlock his account:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/concern/AccountReinstatement

You may receive the results via email within 48 - 72 hours.

If the account has been unlocked but he is still unable to recover his account, I just want to confirm when did your son last successfully sign in to his Microsoft account? If he has not logged into his account for more than two years and it has been closed due to inactivity, he will not be able to use the Account Recovery Form to recover his account. Reference: https://support.microsoft.com/office/7c0a9fa7-0982-b7c6-fd72-df852b63699f

Did your son have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account? If he does have the 2FA active, is he able to access the second factor of authentication? If so, please try resetting his password. Detailed steps on resetting your password can be found in the following support article: https://support.microsoft.com/office/eff4f067-5042-c1a3-fe72-b04d60556c37

Important: The account recovery form can only be used if two-step verification isn't turned on. If the feature is enabled, the only way to recover the account is to regain access to the two-step verification phone number.

If he did not have 2FA active on the account, and the account was not deleted due to inactivity, he will need to try the Account Recovery Form: https://account.live.com/acsr

Detailed steps on how to use the Account Recovery Form can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

Microsoft takes account security very seriously, that's why Account Recovery is an automated process with no human influence. If your son doesn't have the correct information, he may not be able to get through account verification using the Recovery Form.

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that your son is the owner of the account. The Account Recovery Process can be a time-consuming process, but providing as much info as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. He will need to keep trying until he is verified by Microsoft.

Remember to use a familiar device from which he has frequently accessed his Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review his responses and respond within 24 hours. If he is verified, instructions on how to log back into his account will be sent to him, and if he is not verified, he will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. Your son can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

It's important to note that Microsoft Support will not be able to grant you access to your account, you will be sent back to the Account Recovery pages that have been linked above.

If his Microsoft account recovery request was not granted or was unsuccessful, please click the attached link for more information: https://support.microsoft.com/office/dc56c3e3-dff0-4ed5-8edb-60290eea6b53

While it might not be the outcome you are looking for, if he is unsuccessful in recovering his account, then he will need to create a new Microsoft account. He can do that by clicking this link: https://signup.live.com/

I understand that you want to reach out to Microsoft Support. You may follow these steps according to Microsoft Agent | Moderator, XBF Brad A and Xbox Ambassador, CosmicCraze:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-support/988332e4-631f-457c-8bc8-210e7a19be37 and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ive-chat/b75d470e-8c19-4399-bcc9-e6e0bc2ec2fd

Here's how to contact Xbox Support:

    "Chat Support:

    > Visit the Xbox Support website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/
    > Click on the "Contact Us" button in the right of the screen.
    > Select the issue you need help with and click on the "Next" option.
    > Sign in to your Microsoft account.
    > Follow the prompts to connect to a live chat agent.

    For Callback Support:

    > Select Xbox One
    > Select See more options then subscription changes
    > Select Show Contact options
    > Select Request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives a request for a call from support as a contact option.

If you're unable to contact them, try again at a later time."

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Darhyl

    Microsoft account deleted with email

The issue with this is that if I go via the account recovery form, I can't progress because the account I'm trying to recover apparently "doesn't exist", as the email was deleted.
