    How do i promote a child account to an adult account on xbox one


    So i messed up.

    When i was creating my xbox account i accidentally set my birthdate to that of a childs without noticing

    As such i would like to know how i can fix this whether by changing my date of birth or otherwise

    Please provide instructions

    only two options really

    Wait till the account age reaches 18

    Or create a new account

    And no changing the age nor changing the email will work as it will cause problems with 1st and 3rd party Services with mismatched birthdates which does include promotions and matchmaking services that require an adult account

    Like the dreaded incorrect birthdate errors

    My account needs to be changed into an adult account.

    I believe if your account is 18 or older but is a child account can you promote it yourself on the dashboard by going to the Xbox Dashboard > Settings > Account and if you get a prompt that says "Promote to Adult" you can do it from there. That's how i did
    it.

    If its 17 or younger, the adult account has to promote you.

    If its 17 or younger and you have no clue on what the adult account is, then you gotta make a new account.
