How do I port forward???

GTA online says I need the following ports opened:

TCP: 80, 443

UDP: 6672, 61455, 61457, 61456, 61458

But my router only allows me to open up to 5 individual ports.

it would look like this:

local ip:

local start port:

local end port:

external ip:

external start port:

external end port:

protocol: TCP, UDP or Both

this confuses me because if I choose "both" I don't know how to fill it out.

I basically need someone to explain what numbers go where and how I can add in all those numbers even tho my router wont let me add more than 5 port forwards. sorry this is so hard to explain but this is the best way I can explain it.

How do i redirect a port?

If you have multiple devices who share the same port for gaming your ONLY solution is to activate UPnP in your router and disable ALL Port Forwarding. The Problem sometimes is how is UPnP implemented in the router - so sometimes this don't work.

Make sure you have the newest Firmware for your router. If you have a very old router you can search if you can use alternative Firmware like DD-WRT.

How do i redirect a port?

If there is more than one console or PC used for gaming on your home network, you can redirect the second console or PC used for gaming to port 3075 UDP/TCP, a third console or PC used for gaming to port 3076, etc.

My NAT type says OPEN too but GTA online keeps kicking me back into story mode and port forwarding is my only hope

NAT type used to say moderate until I changed it to upn plug n play or whatever its called

 

UPnP definitely has to be enabled and port forwarding can be a hassle. I've done it a few times myself but my router allowed me to do more than 5. Before getting into this mess some routers have a better option in my opinion. Can you search around your
router firewall for anything called DMZ or Advanced DMZ?

Portforward.com. You can select the specific router you own on that page to see specific steps for your router. Depending on your ISP and if you are using a router/modem provided by your ISP, you may need
to reach out to them for assistance with forwarding the right ports.

One thing I would like to note is that we do not recommend turning on UPnP and then opening ports, it's better to have one or the other.
