How do I pin a Microsoft Store app to the desktop? (Windows 10)

I've seen many answers on questions like that that say to open the start menu, find the app, click "more", and then select "open file location". Then, another answer telling me to right click the desktop, create a new shortcut, and select the file location of the app. I've found answers describing how to get to the file location (C:/Program Files/WindowsApps).

None of these work.

I do not get an "open file location" when I right click the app - not in the start menu, not in the search menu, and not in the Microsoft Store.

I cannot find the WindowsApps folder in the Program Files folder. Yes, I have hidden items selected to view. No, it's just not there. It's also not in the Program Files(x86) folder. I looked in both just to make sure.

No, I can't find the folder when I'm browsing to try and create a new shortcut on the desktop, either.

I am only given an option to pin the game apps in question to my taskbar. I don't want the app clogging up my taskbar. I want them on my desktop. Does anyone know why none of the help options are working for me?

Basically, it is a simple task, really.

Press and hold (or right-click) an app, and then select More > Pin to taskbar.

If the app is already open on the desktop, press and hold (or right click) the app's taskbar button, and then select Pin to taskbar.

You could also do this:

Right click the tile on the Start Screen and select the Open File Location option on the bottom toolbar. File Explorer will open with the file selected. Right click that file and select the Send To/Desktop (create shortcut) option.

Or even:

Look for the application you want to use by scrolling through the Apps list at the left side of the windows menu. If it's in the tiles list on the right side of the menu, you can also drag it from there. Once you've found it, drag and drop the application's shortcut from your Start menu to your desktop.

Hi,

For the updates, you need to head to the Microsoft Store app on you Windows 10 machine.

The app is pinned to your taskbar, you cannot miss it.

So, how to update the game:

Start the Windows Store app and click on you user picture.
Choose Downloads and Updates.
Once in the list, check if you see the FH3 update.
If yes, click on the arrow to download it.

I have not tried resetting my password as there is nothing wrong with my login details. It simply wont accept even my email when i try to login. I CAN access microsoft store, microsoft windows account, xbox app, minecraft launcher with microsoft login. These work fine.

Minecraft.net and microsoft login website do not even accept even my email, as it refreshes the page when i click next.

I can sign into microsoft store app on windows PC. However, it does not require a password it requires windows PIN number. Microsoft store uses microsoft account settings to login, and PIN to verify user.

Change the pin on windows settings log out from the Microsoft store app and try again
