How do I password protect purchases on the 360?

Hey mate, I don't believe this is an option on the 360, certainly not to lock specific purchases....

So I'm assuming your child does not have an account of their own? If he does, I would be password protecting your account so he can't be using it:

support.xbox.com/.../manage-sign-in-preferences

and if you're letting them use your account, then I would heavily suggest creating one for them and setting it to a child account:

support.xbox.com/.../xbox-360-online-safety

Sorry, there's currently no way to password protect purchases. What you can do, however, is contact phone support to take your payment method off of the account. If you want to purchase anything for your kids you can purchase prepaid Microsoft Point cards from
retail stores or online via digital delivery.

Alternatively, you can put an account pass code on, or a console passcode that would prevent your kids from going on the console, or logging into your account (depending on what you choose). This doesn't stop purchases once they are in the account though. More

The 360 is not a Fisher Price wind-up toy. The Live service is not daycare. Remove their access to the console and to Live until you sit down and go through all the Parental Control options and set them up with CHILD accounts.

I suppose telling them not to buy anything on your account is out of the question?
