How do i move everything from old xbox to new one?

Hi, i have a xbox 360 4GB but i have the issue of it constantly saying 'open tray' so have now bought a new 500GB. I have a xbox live gold account and have quite alot of previously downloaded games with gold on the old one and i was wondering if i will
be able to just sign into the new xbox and use the download history option to get those games onto the new one??

Transfer my Live account

I bought my son a new Xbox. How do I transfer Xbox Live (Family) from the one he has now to the new one if the old one is not here. He is over in Afganistan and his stuff is in storage? I was hoping to have everything set up on the new one when he comes
home. Also how do I erase the old Xbox?

Yes. Anything you purchased on your account, including free games, can be redownloaded from your dowbload history. The only thing you would need to move differently would be game saves. You can use the cloud or a flash drive for those.

My apologies. I ment to say when I tried to do the license transfer on the new xbox it said I had to wait. I never did a transfer just moved everything from the old xbox.

I recently plugged in a 250gb HD, and "Moved" everything from the old 4Gb drive to the new one. All games ask you to select where to load from, and where to save to, also profile were moved and all work just fine.

Now.... what to do with all this space

When the xbox giving everything is open you would say that everything should be alright. Is this a new modem or did the moden moved with you from your old place?

No, you can't move gamertags to new accounts. You can create new addresses and change the primary account,.

If she is still using the address, do not delete it from the account when you create a new one for your own. If you delete it, she will lose it forever.

ETA: you can't move your current address to her account either. You'd need to make a new address.
