    How do I make my account not a child account?


    I bought minecraft today and I downloaded the launcher logged in with my microsoft account and tried to join a server and it said "failed to join : null" and i tried changing my privacy setting but apperently im using a child account (i'm 15) please help

    The age of the account is based on the birthdate you entered when creating the account. This date cannot be changed. You would have to wait for the account to reach the age of 18 for you to be able to make it an adult account.

    Hi Aston I'd love to help.

    As long as your dad was able to configure your privacy settings, you can be able to join public servers or join friends.

    Try signing out from the Minecraft launcher and sign back in again.

    Hi Aston!

    Please be advised that you cannot manually change your account from child to adult. Even if you changed it from https://account.microsoft.com website under "Your info" section, the system still recognizes the first date of birth that was entered upon the creation of your account. Since you're still 15, you need a guardian or a parent to manage your account. Please ask your parents to setup a Microsoft Family for them to change your account privacy settings.
