  1. How do I lift all restrictions on my childs account

I'm so sick of the run around when I try to do anything with my child. I'm an organizer and he's part of my family safety group. When I'm at account.microsoft.com/family/settings, there appears to be nothing helpful to lift all restrictions. I have no xbox limits turned on, no screen time restrictions turned on. No app and game limits turned on. No limits in the Windows app turned on. I have it set to 'No approval needed for using this money or gift cards' and yet I my child still had major issues up until recently when I had to literally get tech support on the chat to do something after they 'looked' around for 30 minutes. Now I'm trying to play trailmakers which looks very PG and benign and my child is getting the message "Change your settings to play". "You can't play with content created by other players because of how your account is set up. Go to your privacy & online safety settings on Xbox.com to change this. Well I'm just getting the run around when I try to find wherever these settings are. Then I see that I have to download an app "Xbox Family Settings"? Why the hell I can't just do this in the browser is beyond me. So I download the app and as soon as I hit sign in, I get the message "try again soon can't sign in"... Let me tell you, Microsoft as a company is a **** show. So if I can't change my childs settings at the Microsoft Family Safety site, then where else am I supposed to go and why the HELL are these settings spread out across so many different places!?!? THERE IS NO REASON I SHOULD HAVE TO GO ON A GOOSE CHASE TO CHANGE SIMPLE **** ****!

    :)

Microsoft, PLEASE just give us (Gold Members) codes for DiRT 3

You mentioned that your account has child restrictions. That restriction could be temporarily lifted, if you ask.

I dont know if this has been posted again.

    Hi Scrubbz

You usually see this error if you try to purchase content on a child's account. You will need to speak to an adult in the family group to lift the restriction or purchase it for you.

    Hope that helps.

Hi there reneewoody14 ! Thanks for reaching out to us.

Are you currently playing on a child account? If so, you may need to have the adult account sign in & lift some current

    restrictions
    on your account.

If you're not playing on a child account, please be sure to post back!

    time restrictions on parent account

The problem with this is: Since your account is an adult account, even if you could put time restrictions on that, your kid using the account would be regarded as an adult thanks to the adult account, and the kid could just go to the account settings themselves
    and revert the changes.

That's why child accounts can't make such settings and require a separate adult account to do it.

Let's make a real world analogy:

You as a parent could go to a bank and tell the cashier that your kid has a "child" account at their bank, and you want to limit the ability to withdraw money to 100$ per month.

Since the kid is unable to sign contracts and stuff, if the kid goes to the bank and says "I want the 100$ limit lifted because I want to buy Disneyland!", the cashier will say "Sorry kid, due to your age you can't make or change contracts. Get your parent
    here to lift the limit."

If you as an adult go to the bank and say "I want to limit my spending to 100$ per month", and a few days later come back and say "I as an adult want to buy a boat, a house and a new car, so lift my 100$ spending limit", the bank will comply as you are the
    adult.

So unfortunately, you can either leave the kid unable to be restricted, or create a new child account where the kid can then be restricted, but loses their game progress.

Also be aware: The older the kid gets, the more they want their own account. And the more YOU want them to have their own account, as the older kid probably then could see your emails and use other Microsoft Account services on your account.

So personally, I can only recommend to create a new account for the kid, and have them replay all the fun games again. With time restrictions, if needed.
