How do I leave an Xbox One family as a child?

I have a child account so I need to be signed into an adult account in the same family to change my settings, however I can't put my dad's and my account into the same family as my account is already in a family with a different account I don't recognize!
How do I leave this other family? Help!

Thanks that's very helpful but I can't remove myself cause I can't connect to Xbox live. If only I could do it on Xbox.com and not from my console.

Same issue here. I chatted with Xbox support earlier this evening, but they were useless. They informed me that my son, who's currently 8, will have to wait until he turns 18 before he/I can remove him from this fictitious family account. The bogus family
user account in question for me is UplandBacchus5 in case any of you see the same thing as myself. MS doesn't think it's an issue, I say the hackers have now found another loop hole to expose the idiocracy of MS.

 

I have the same problem. I'm a teen under the age of 18 and I can't leave my family. I would sign into the adult account of the family and change this except that the adult account who added me to the family is some random person called AlikeHarpy99271.
So that person basically has me trapped and I can't do anything about it.

 

Yep, I've posted on this issue within another thread but we're having the same problem. My son has redeemed some vouchers he received for Christmas but can't spend them because he has a child account. My attempts to change his account have seen me spend
hour after thankless hour trying to remove him from a family that we cannot gain access to or even find out what it is! This is utterly astonishing that we have had no official information regarding this. What is going on?! Is this a result of the hacks? PLEASE

what you guys need to do is sign in as our current parent and and DELETE yourself from thier family but keep in mind you have to have adult account all ready and you have to join another adults family if your under the age of 18

 

I have the same problem. A random account is apparently in my Xbox family which is weird bcuz I didn't even know I had one. Since my account is apparently a child account I am not allowed to remove the account Tazze69. I've never even heard of this account

ok I’m literally talking to an actual tech support. Ask them. She’s figuring this out.

 

its.easy im.npt.sure why you guys are making it.complicated.then it should be

Youe parent needs to remove you

Then you sign in and add a different parent

And no you can't be without a parntal.account until you are 18 and no you can't change the setting so you are 18
