How do I know if I'm console banned?

I've been talking to Xbox ambassadors all day. And I've been asking them all basically the same question. Why is it that when I try to log on to a multiplayer game it says that you cannot access multiplayer game because of your previous
Behavior. At first I thought okay well maybe it's just an account ban. But then when I tried doing it on a friend's account it also gives me the same message. However it's also asking me to buy Xbox Live which doesn't make any sense. And I don't think it's
a console ban but I have no way of knowing because my enforcement history doesn't say anything about a console being banned or anything. How do I know if it's a console ban is there any email I get or anything. I mean I've tried just about everything I can
and nothing seems to work. Am I just supposed to sit here and eight it out and see if it is banned? And please don't direct me to contact Microsoft because every time I go there and it asks what my problem is it just gives me an info board linking me back
to my enforcement page which does not help me at all. It's like they want to ban people from their service and not allowed them back in.

Please see below on how to check you console for updates. Also, try doing a hard reset to see if this resolves your Xbox not reading discs. To do this with your console on, hold the power button down for 10 seconds until it quickly shuts off. Then power
the console back on (expect a slower boot time).

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Under System, select Console info & updates.
5. Available updates will show in the second button down in the first column.
   
   If an update is available, the button will read Update Available. If your console is already on the current release build, the button will be grayed out and will read No update available.
   

 

How do I know if I am fully updated?

My Xbox is also not accepting any discs and I found that perhaps I am not updated fully? Can anyone help me out here?

For console bans and suspensions, the account that was found in violation of Enforcement actions should receive an e-mail. Be sure to check the e-mail account you used as communication.
