How do I keep my controller connected?

I have a wired Xbox Controller that I use to play games on my Windows 10 PC. It's a PowerA, so I don't expect the world, but I know my PC is receiving and executing those inputs. There's one problem though; it won't stick. I've been trying to play Yakuza Kiwami 2, and the on-screen input assists (the things on the bottom that show you which buttons do what, idk the actual term) keep switching to keyboard controls. Normally I don't mind this, but it's getting to the point where I cannot play whatsoever; the game keeps switching to keyboard while I'm trying to use controller and won't let me continue from the inconsistency. I've looked up the issue many times, but it keeps redirecting me to a completely different Xbox-keyboard related question, hence my asking here. What's the deal? My PC is low-end, but it works fine enough, and the controller works when plugged into an Xbox console. I've replugged it at both sides. I've reset my computer. I've restarted the game. I've even redownloaded it. I've even unplugged the keyboard and mouse in question, but it keeps swapping over. I ask again; what's the deal?

    :)

How do I keep my controller connected?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good morning

Some games automatically switch between keyboard/mouse and controller input depending on which device is being used. In such cases, you can try disabling the keyboard/mouse input in the game settings.

This could also be the cable with poor contact, it is a very common problem, and on your xbox it may not show due to the lack of time compared to the pc. it could still be the USB port that is having a problem, try to use other ones.

How do I keep my controllers from disconnecting?

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Sean

Probably something in your room is interfering with the controllers connection. Is hard to know what's exactly interfering with your controllers (can be something in your room, or a device from another room / neighbor)

May I know if you tried using the controllers via cable?
Or wirelessly but very close to the console? (1 or 2 feet away)

The problem persists 6 feet away?
    Try the cable if possible.

In the meantime I can advise you other things to try directly in the console:

    A. Power cycle your console
    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    B. If you're using any inside build / beta OS in your console please go back to an stable version and try again

    C. Try performing a factory reset but keeping games and apps

Go to Settings > System > Console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

    D. In case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
For this you need a USB and PC to format it and transfer files provided in the link below (with all the steps):

    Controller Sync Issues

    Hello,

I haven’t connected my controller to anything in a month, I do keep dropping it, BTW this is only when I start (turn on) the controller.

No one has used my controller.

And my other Xbox is 200mi away from me. Don’t think that would connect. 😂
