How do I increase my download speed for digital games on my xbox one?

Not really on topic but what does google charge for that?

 

Glad to see Bird's post with the guide. So many people just don't realize how much difference a higher tier connection will make. Having one's network set up properly is the next thing to pay attention to, followed by making sure there is minimal activity
on the network while downloading. Of course there are other factors that will make a difference, but they are factors that are out of the hands of the user.

For example, if you start a download on the night before a game releases, you have to expect it to possibly take longer since that game's servers will likely be busier than usual and bogged down.

I'm on a 50Mbps connection. If memory serves, DAI was 45GB... about the same size as H5. I got it when it went on publisher's sale and it downloaded somewhere between 4 and 5 hours, but that was in the background while I was online playing Destiny... which
is known to use your internet connection heavily.

I'm a bit of a stickler about my network. I make sure it's set up properly with the Xbox in the DMZ so I don't have to worry about NAT and have my DNS benchmarked. Therefore I'm confident enough that I actually waited until the night H5 released to preorder
it. With how busy I expected the servers to be and the fact that I was playing TMCC while it downloaded, I expected it to take about 5.5 hours and it came it at just under 5.

I think it was Lofty that said something about a connection under 20Mbps would be 'buy a disc' speed. Unless you plan to preorder games weeks in advance, I have to agree. I'm fairly happy with 50... but 20 or less would be... painstakingly slow to download
anything gaming related IMO.

Do you have a small TV that is free to be used?

I know that it might be a little bit of work (if its not tied down to an entertainment center furniture), but would it be possible for you to plug your Xbox One directly to the modem via an Ethernet Cable just for downloading the game?

Maybe set-up your Xbox One with the small TV that is hooked up to your modem and then return your console to its playing set-up?

The reason that I'm suggesting this is because I have an unused 20 inch LCD TV and that is what I would do to speed up the downloading process.

Also, I only buy digital only if there is no other option to get game as I prefer to have the physical disk

My Xbox One runs on Wi-Fi, but I purchased a $330.00 range extender so instead of getting 2 out of 4 signal bar strenght, I get 4 out of 4 signal bar strenght
