    How do I identify my Xbox 360 model?


    Hi Everyone,

    I managed to snag an Xbox 360 at a local yard sale for very short money. Just the console and power supply; had to get a controller from eBay. No other cables or manual or anything. It works fine, but I'm trying to set it up so I can play it without the
    sound coming from the television (don't want to wake the wife, who is generally asleep when I do all my gaming.) I'm finding that a lot of the hardware works with only specific versions/models of the Xbox 360.

    I know the Xbox 360 comes in several different models (Core, Pro, Elite, Arcade, etc), and I'd like to know how to identify exactly which model I have, so I won't buy something that will turn out not to work with mine.

    It's flat (matte) black with a chromed-front disc tray. It also has a hard drive on the left (laying flat, not vertically.) Date of manufacture is 02-15-2008. Product ID: 89555612111499380705. The power supply sticker on the back says it's rated at 12V,
    14.2 A. The power-supply socket on the back does not have the center pin.

    I think it's an Xbox 360 Elite or Super Elite, but I'd like to be sure before I start buying hardware. Thanks for any help!!

    Identifying console type

    How can I identify my console type?

    I suppose it is XBOX 360 S 250GB without HDD, while seller says it is XBOX 360 S 4GB.

    The devise doesn't shows any storage module.

    Can I prove it via serial number or console ID?

    xbox set up requesting WEP P/W but my network has a WPA key?

    When attempting to set up wireless connection with xbox live, system detects my wireless network, but then request WEP password and not the WPA network key... which is how to access my home network? How do I get xbox to identify this correctly?

    From the sound of it, it is either an xbox 360 Elite or Super Elite. To find out, check how big the hard drive is 120GB (Elite)or 250GB (Super Elite). Either way it is an Elite, but with a bigger hard drive. Also you can tell by the usb sockets on the back,
    if it's just one, you have an Elite/Super Elite.

    None of the core did

    It wss put into elites and pros and arcades later

    I got a xbox 360 pro with hdmi from ms i gifted to my supervisor at the time after I bought a elite earlier in the year since I didn't need the pro both were jaspers

    I got blackops at some point too lol

    For life span sake any jasper or s or e series are immune to rrod

    Though ms had a policy where as soon as you said rrod you got a free repair during the 360 days regardless of the actual issue since it was replacement warranty

    Did it come with that power supply unit? If so read the watts it should be 150W, 175W, 203W. According to a reddit post the higher the wattage the newer the power supply is, and apparently I Higher wattage PSU is compatible with a lower requirement console. I haven't been able to confirm this yet so don't hop straight on ebay...

    My power supply is the 203W It works on my xbox. My xbox is while with shinny disc tray (not arcade)

    The xbox it works on has a sticker that reads: 12V DC, 16.5A ; 5Vsb , 1A (next to where you plug the PSU in)

    Okay well my elite works? what the? anyways... lol

    Elite (black with shinny disc tray and quieter fans) Next to where its power supply plugs in the sticker says:

    Same thing but with 14.2A

    203 power supply powered two different consoles for me. Even one that I thought was broken, thats a good sign. If your numbers on the console match with these combined with the reddit post. I'd say the 203 is a pretty good bet at this point. But I still ain't guaranteeing it. I would buy that one if I was in your shoes tho..

    EDIT: P.S. Thank you for fixing my xbox lol. (now i need to plug in the hdmi, maybe something else specifically was broken...)

    Time to go fix my own stuff I guess....

    If you look.at.the capacity othe storage.it can tell.us more

    The other model will.have a. weird curved.bump.on the side which is a hdd

    The arcade model.doesn't have. such.a.bump
