How do i gift a game i already own?

I already own overwatch and I want to gift a copy to a friend. I don't want to buy a gift card. The option to "Buy as a Gift" doesn't show up on the xbox website, through the app or on console. Am I missing something?

Please don't provide "It should be..." suggestions, I need step by step instructions.

It does not look like there is any other version available other than "Overwatch: Legendary Edition" through the Microsoft Store online. This is the only
edition of the game that you will be able to gift through the Microsoft store. If you would like to gift a different edition to a friend then I would advise that you purchased a prepaid code through one of our

Trusted Xbox Retailers.

go to the store, look for the game, select it for a gift and select your payment method

If you goto the store, pick the game you want, and then click buy as gift.

You need to make sure that the game you bought can be gifted by checking the store page and seeing if there's a "buy as gift" option. If you already own the game that you want to gift, then sending it to someone may be a little bit more difficult.

The legendary edition is more expensive. I just want to gift the standard edition. The article you provided doesn't address those who already own the game and want to buy it as a gift.
