How do I get the bundled download of Forza Motorsport 5?

I purchased an Xbox One w/Kinect and download of Forza Motorsport 5 a little over a week ago (9 days ago) but I did not find a download code in the box. I checked xbox.com and found a line of small print stating that the download code would be sent to the
email address associated with the Xbox One. It said it would be sent within 10 days but I want to be sure because it sounded like that may only be the case for console bundles purchased online. I purchased mine at a local store (also not a nationwide chain
like Walmart, Target, or Best Buy). I found some posts on a Best Buy site where folks were told that there should be a code on their receipt. I checked mine, just to be sure, even though I didn't purchase from Best Buy but there was no code on the receipt.
Should I just wait another day or two or should I have received a code with the console? Thanks!

Alienware R4 17 recently purchased came with Forza Motorsport 7

Recently purchased an Alienware R4 17 that came with Forza Motorsport 7. The laptop does not already have the game loaded so you have to download it. How do I get the download without having to purchase it?

 

The code should have been in the box. Was the console new or used? Had the box looked as though it was opened prior to you purchasing it? You should try returning to the store to let them know the code was not in the bundle.

 

This was a new console and was behind a locked glass cabinet at the store. The box had not been opened and did not appear to have been tampered with in any way. I will stop by the store to ask them about the code.

 

Just wanted to report back that I stopped by the store on my way home from work. I actually spoke with the guy who said he placed the game code cards in each Xbox One and, after questioning him as to where he placed the cards, I went home and found it.
It was tucked inside the side flap of the box and not in the actual box itself. Thanks for the response, onyx62is!

 

do you know what the code/card looks like? I'm having a similar issue but I purchased mine from Costco

 

It's the standard Xbox card - about 4x5" cardboard with a zip-tear window on the back that you remove to reveal the code.
