    How do I get product support from Microsoft for the "guest account PIN" issue?


    I am pulling my hair out trying to understand why the account implementation for xbox does not work as it should and how to fix things!!!

    The current issue is that for some unknown reason the xbox is now asking for a guest PIN to perform admin tasks.

    When I set up the xbox, I set the main account with my own details and then added kids acounts separately.
    But recently my account is not able to perform admin tasks like adding new accounts, or changing some settings.

    I've seen others complain of the same issues but there doesnt seem to be any resolution from the comunity, and MS havent offered any support to others.

    Is there a way to raise a support ticket to MS?

    I can see that you are having issues with your PIN, let me see how I can assist you with this concern.

    If you’ve forgotten your PIN and can’t access restricted console features, follow these steps:

    1. When you’re prompted to enter your PIN on the console, enter any 6-digit combination three times.
    2. Enter your Microsoft account password when prompted.
    3. Select Make a new PIN.
    4. Enter a new PIN, and then enter it again to confirm.

    Can you make a guest account to play portal 2 local coop?

    I think this is more a question of “how do I make a guest account on 360 backwards compatible games” since I have this issue with all my 360 games on xbox one so is there a way to add guest accounts on 360 games when playing on xbox one? because from my experience it’s not as easy as adding a guest account on xbox one

    Hi Ai,

    I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble logging in to Gamepass on your partner’s PC. I can understand how frustrating that must be.

    The PIN that it is requesting is likely the Windows Hello PIN, which is used to sign in to your Microsoft account on Windows 11 devices. If you have not set up a PIN before, then you may need to do so in order to log in to Gamepass on your partner's PC.

    If you’ve forgotten your PIN and can’t access restricted console features, you can reset it by entering any 6-digit combination three times, then entering your Microsoft account password when prompted, and then selecting Make a new PIN.

    If you get a request to enter a PIN that you forgot, you can enter an incorrect PIN multiple times, and the device will ask you for your regular Microsoft account password. Then simply sign in with that particular password instead of using the PIN.

    If you can’t go beyond the sign-in screen, you can select Forgot my password and follow the instructions. You can also check if the Set time setting automatically is turned on in your PC’s Time & language settings.

    If none of those options work, you can try to remove your Microsoft account from your PC’s Accounts settings, then go back to the Xbox app and sign in with the Microsoft account you just removed.

    You can also try to reinstall the Xbox Game Pass app or login in the Xbox Companion App first.

    If you continue to experience issues, you may want to try logging in to Gamepass using a different device to see if the issue is specific to your partner's PC.
