    How do I get my in-game items to my preferred account?


    So I had played Sea of Thieves on Xbox Game Pass as a trial. I used this Microsoft account to link to Xbox. After the trial ended, I wanted to buy the game on Steam. I had purchased the Premium Bundle, which consisted of cosmetics, gold, and an in-game pass. Once I opened the game, it defaulted to link my Steam account to a different Microsoft account I still had up. I did not enter the game yet, and I had changed link accounts. I then proceeded to login with this account, which had progress from when I played it on Xbox. Once I got in game, I realized I had none of the items from the Premium Bundle I purchased. So, I assumed that it would take some time to show up. I then logged out and logged into my other Microsoft account, and behold, the items were in that account.

    I didn't touch any of the gold or cosmetics or anything, and looked at the refund policy for in-game items. Steam's refund policy allowed me to get a refund on in-game purchases in 48 hours. So I got the refund and waited 3 days. I then, repurchased the Premium Bundle from Steam, and reinstalled the game. I made sure that my initial login was that of this account, and not the one I do not use anymore. I also tried closing that account. Once I got in game, all my progress had disappeared from when I played on Xbox. This was not the case previously when I first repurchased the game. I had no items or gold. I then logged out and tried logging into my other account. The items and gold from the Premium Bundle were still in that account.

    Microsoft has caused so many problems for me, whether it be Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, or even the Microsoft store.

    I was hoping I could merge those accounts and not have an issue, but it seems that that option is off the table, since security totally matters when the user has both login information for each email, with authenticator.

    Money is not the issue here. I simply wish for my items to go to my preferred account.

    Could I know if more than 24 hours have passed since the date of purchase? According to the following article from Ubisoft, “If your purchase has not appeared in your game after 24 hours, please get in touch, providing us with a screenshot of your transaction history and letting us know which store you purchased your R6 credits from.”
