How do I get my headset with microphone working on Xbox one

Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.

Does the headset work on Xbox One Party chat (i.e. do you see a circle around your gamerpic in the party chat on Xbox One)?

Are only Backwards compatible games affected? If so, it might be that the Astro A50 base station acts as a USB microphone, which doesn't work as Chat microphone on the Xbox 360.

You might have to contact the Astro A50 support for information on how to use that headset on backwards compatible titles.

Yeah it works on the Xbox One party chat but yeah that's what i was thinking i might just have to get a old Xbox One chat headset for it to work.

I have the same issue. Been watching like 10 videos of how to fix this, it just doesnot work. Microsoft want us simply to buy a new controller, because my perspective, the issue is from my controller.

Have a look at the steps in this support page, Update xbox wireless controller to update the controller firmware. The uSB method is my preference. You may need to purchase a headset adapter, which connects to the socket on the controller and allows volume control and / or mute at your fingertips.

Update all of your controllers to the latest version using the steps above.

If you have the xbox guide, an audio icon should appear at the top, maybe the microphone is muted from that part
