how do I get Minecraft multiplayer to work?

If you are using an adult account, please log in to your account at this link, https://account.xbox.com/settings

Select your account there so that we can modify the privacy settings of it then under the tab Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety.

Be sure the options You can create and join clubs and You can join multiplayer games are allowed.

If you're still a minor, I'm sorry but an adult is required to manage your privacy and online safety settings.

To fix this, you need to ask an adult to add you as a member under their family group (https://account.microsoft.com/family) and once you're added as a member, the organizer/adult will sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and manage your privacy settings from there.

We recommend you to change your internet connection with more stable and private one. Or else, you may want to try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. Lastly, try to use the hotspot from a mobile data. See what works for you.

You can enable the multiplayer for Minecraft from the Xbox Family Settings app on your mobile device.

To download the Family App: https://www.xbox.com/apps/family-settings-app

If you are using a minor account, ask your Family Organizer to Sign in and follow these steps:

Click on the Account Name > Settings (The cog on the top right) > Multiplayer > Allow

Then, on the same window, under Cross-play:

Allow Crossplay

Allow Communication with Friends

On the bottom of the page, Clubs > Allow (For Minecraft Realms).
