How do I friend someone in Minecraft who is on Playstation 4?

Please be informed that if you play the Bedrock version for PC, you can only add players who also play on it. Also, to add a friend, you should have a Microsoft account as this is needed to use the crossplay feature of the game.

If you're all set with those, you can then go to the game's menu, and look for the "Invite to Game" option. Then choose "Find Cross-Platform Friends." Lastly, simply type the Minecraft gamertag or ID and select Add Friend, that's only if you find them.

I created Microsoft accounts for each of my children to play Minecraft with each other on their PlayStation 4. It is not allowing them to add friends, it gives them a privacy error. I do not know what setting is preventing them from adding friends.
Can someone please help. Thank you.

Hello MrsHood, Im pretty sure they are trying to add friends on PSN and not Via microsoft account. If they are trying Via PSN i would recommend contacting Playstation Support. Wish you the best of luck!

Minecraft Bedrock Edition supports cross-platform play with Xbox One, Playstation 4, Windows 10, Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. To play with someone on Minecraft, you'll need a Microsoft account to do so, no matter the platform.
