How do I fix when auto-detect obly works on 640x480?

Hi, still having this problem. Had already tried every you said to try, Ricardo. Auto-Detect seems to be the problem here rather than the solution though. When manually selecting what connection I have, I can run the One X in up to 1440p. When using Auto-Detect, I am stuck in 640x480 resolution, with no way out of it other than to put back into manual selection mode. Other consoles work fine, I have tried using the Xbox's original HDMI cable as well as a HDMI 2.1 cable. Nothing seems to be working, and the problem definitely seems to be with the Xbox One X.

This evening, I turned on the Xbox. The TV was working in the main tile. I signed in to my wife's profile (not Xbox Gold), opened Skype and set her up so she'd be signed in when I try to Skype her, and then went back to the Home screen. The sound was working,
but I had the No Signal Detected message when I started TV.

I signed her out and signed in as me and the problem persisted.

I started poking around in settings and changed the source type from Auto-Detect to HDMI. The screen resized to 640x480 and it did not scale to fit my display. I went back into settings and changed it back to 1080p and then went back to the Home screen.
I started the TV app and it was working.

I will have to wait to see if it happens again, but it makes sense that it's the Auto-detect feature that is causing the problem.

OK so first thing How do you have your console going to your TV through HDMI? DVI?

If HDMI go into settings go down to display and sound go to video output which is probably where you are seeing the 640X480 setting under display then go over to video fidelity & overscan on that page you want to make sure under display it is showing auto
detect or HDMI if showing HDMI then on the previous screen you should be able to set the display resolution to something other then 640X480

It reverts back to low res after switching to 720p or 1080p. I changed the auto detect to hdmi and ran the same test. The screen goes black displays no signal then goes back to the settings dashboard. It stays on 640x480 resolution mode.

Just to cover all bases I even tried testing on a 4k tv. That didn't work but that's probably unrelated to the primary issue.
