How do I fix “ We cannot send a code to this number “ when attempting to unlock an account?

Hi there, in having problems logging into my Xbox the verify number that's sends the code is wrong on the Xbox and I cannot access my account. I can get onto my Microsoft account and ice changed the password but the number on the Xbox is wrong that sends
you the code. Please help

Hi! I was wondering if it says the same thing when you sign into your account on xbox? If so, it means that your account was locked, and you have to sign in on PC. When you do, it'll ask you for your phone number. Just put in your number and it'll send you
a code to put in to unlock your account. If this doesn't help you may need to contact Xbox Support in order to get your account back on track.

Account was locked due to "suspicious activity" turned on console and was logged out, tried logging in but couldn't "there's a problem with your account fix it at account.live. Com" so I went to the link and reset my password successfully but it also wanted to send my mobile a verification code so I typed in my number and clicked "send code" but didn't get anything so I tried five times in total without getting any codes then tried to do it a 6th time and it wouldn't let me "maximum number of attempts today try again tomorrow"

Seems bizarre when I haven't actually done anything to violate any rules (could just take it back to argos and tell them the machine is faulty and get a PS5 instead of waiting 24 hours for some myth of a code I "might" receive)

I do not have access to the phone number linked to my account. When I try to sign into my account on a new device, the login requires a code from the old phone number. How do I access my account without the phone number?I am trying to sign in to a different Xbox One than my personal Xbox. I am unable to access my personal Xbox at present. I cannot get into my Xbox Microsoft account to change my verification phone number without the old phone number, which I no longer have.

When you first setup two step verification (where it sends a verification code to your phone number when logging in) it wouldve provided you with several backup codes (meant for this exact sort of situation) and told you to save them in safe place.

You can use one of those codes instead when it asks you for a code.

If on the off chance you didn't save those codes then unfortunately your account wont be recoverable. Those backup codes are your absolute last resort for regaining access to the account in this sort of situation. This is also why its so very important to keep your account information up to date.

I am correctly logged in. You ( Support) null and voided my original code when you couldn't get it to work ( download). You then added a new code on the administrator level to my account and tried to see if it would work. IT DID NOT! I currently DO NOT
have a valid code to try and download my game. How's about someone call me and we get this fixed so we can stop
