how do i fix this unknown issue for the xbox companion app

Thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. We know how important it is for you to stream your game through Xbox Console Companion App. Everything is moving over to the Xbox app and Xbox Game Bar.

You may check these two apps in your Windows device and see if you can proceed with the stream of your favorite game. Should the option for stream on specific game or app is unavailable, we encourage you to send feedback to Team Xbox. Please use Xbox app on Windows (click here) and perform the steps below:

1. Navigate to the top right of the application and select your gamerpic icon
   
2. Select “Feedback” in the drop-down menu
   
3. Select “Report a problem”
   
4. Click Give new feedback
   
5. Add a short and brief description in “Summarize your feedback” followed by a feedback summary
   
   • Summary should be descriptive and fully detailing the error you are receiving. Links redirecting to this forum post will not be accepted and will cause a delay in your feedback submission.
     
6. Category should automatically be selected.
   
7. In the "add more details" category, you will have the option to "Recreate my problem". Recreating the problem will help us further pinpoint the error you are receiving.

Hey yeah I have tried checking my settings on Xbox also on the companion app itself but can’t figure out how to fix the issue

I think that I have managed to fix the issue. Launching games through the xbox console companion app (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/console-companion-app), rather than the xbox game pass beta, seems to fix the problem.

I checked, and the NAT type on the companion app is Strict, but on the Xbox One it is Moderate. Could that be the issue, and could I fix it by logging out of the companion when I am using the Xbox?

Close the Xbox app completely and launch or install the Xbox Companion app, sign in with your account there, then open the Xbox app and see if that fixes the issue.
