    How do I fix not being able to install games?


    For a week now I haven’t been able to download anything. It gets so far and then says “installation stopped”. I have tried everything that Xbox support chat had told me to and nothing has worked. Other than giving me troubleshoot advice, they blamed my WiFi. There isn’t anything wrong with my WiFi.

    Quite a few people are having this problem according to Xbox support, although they haven’t marked it as an outage.

    What do I do? This all started with marvels avengers and now it’s affecting all games.

    It’s really frustrating I’d appreciate any help.

    How do I fix not being able to install games?

    You're welcome and thank you for letting me know. Have you already tried to reset your console keeping your games and apps? If not yet, don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    I apologize for the trouble. If I may ask, do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted external hard drive may cause issue in installing games as well so we need to investigate further.
